# Written in their language, not translated into it.

A buyer writes half a sentence in Arabic and finishes it in English, the way people here actually write, and gets a reply that reads like a person from Muscat wrote it. Nobody is asked to choose a language, and nobody gets a stiff paragraph of textbook Arabic back.

EJ Real Estate, Muscat — 200+ WhatsApp messages a day, across Arabic and English, answered without a person.

## What actually changes

- An Arabic-speaking buyer and an English-speaking buyer get the same quality of answer from the same system.

- Nobody sees a "please choose your language" menu, and nobody is asked to repeat themselves.

- Your Arabic-speaking staff run the whole platform in Arabic, not in a mirrored English screen.

## What it does

### The language is read, never asked.

A one-word greeting or a full paragraph in mixed Arabic and English is enough. The agent picks the language from the first message and stays in it for the rest of the conversation.

### Omani and Gulf Arabic, not only textbook Arabic.

It reads bkam al-bay as a price question and answers the price, instead of asking the buyer to rephrase. Regional dialect, local phrasing and the shorthand people actually type are handled as normal input rather than as errors.

### Mid-sentence switching, handled as normal.

Gulf buyers move between Arabic and English inside one message. The agent follows and replies in the same mix the buyer set, rather than forcing the conversation into one language.

### Right-to-left through the whole system.

The interface, notifications, WhatsApp templates and CRM records are all genuinely typeset right to left. Arabic is set in Zanjabeel with tracking left alone, because negative tracking breaks the letter joins.

### It knows how business is done here.

How an Omani property deal actually progresses, what Ramadan hours do to response expectations, how VAT is applied locally, and how a buyer phrases an offer. That context is in the model, not bolted on as a prompt.

## The details

Arabic

Omani dialect, wider Khaliji, Levantine, Egyptian and Modern Standard Arabic. The agent mirrors the dialect the buyer is writing in.

Other languages

English, Hindi, Urdu, Swahili and Tagalog. Others can be added and tuned during onboarding when a client has a customer segment that needs one.

How it's generated

Written natively in the target language. There is no English answer being translated on the way out, which is what makes machine-translated Arabic read like a form letter.

Code-switching

Mixed Arabic and English inside a single message is treated as ordinary input, because in the Gulf it is.

Typesetting

Zanjabeel for Arabic, Host Grotesk for Latin, with letter-spacing forced to zero for Arabic so the joins stay intact.

Model

Runs on Midnight, 4Ys's AI system: it routes each message to a suitable foundation model from vetted third-party AI providers, under 4Ys's own instructions for Gulf business conversations.

For staff

Every screen, report and notification in the platform is available in Arabic as well as English.

## Questions we get asked

Is the Arabic actually written in Arabic, or translated from English?

It is generated in Arabic. The model was tuned on Gulf business conversations, so replies use regional dialect and local phrasing rather than the stiff Modern Standard Arabic that comes out of a translation layer. Buyers who read Arabic as a first language are the ones who notice the difference, and they notice it immediately.

Which Arabic dialects does the 4Ys agent support?

Omani, wider Khaliji (Gulf), Levantine, Egyptian and Modern Standard Arabic. The agent works out which one a buyer is writing in from their messages and mirrors it, so an Omani buyer is not answered in Egyptian phrasing.

What happens when a customer mixes Arabic and English?

It is handled as normal input. Mixing the two inside one sentence is the default way people write in the Gulf, so the agent follows the buyer and replies in whatever mix they set. There is no language menu and no request to start again in one language.

Which other languages are supported?

English, Hindi, Urdu, Swahili and Tagalog alongside Arabic. If a client has a significant customer segment in another language, it can be added and tuned as part of onboarding.

Can our Arabic-speaking staff use the platform in Arabic?

Yes. Every screen, report and notification is available in Arabic, with real right-to-left layout and Arabic typesetting rather than a mirrored English interface. A team can run the system entirely in Arabic.
